Our quest to find the best Orange County happy hours brought us to the Bayside Restaurant happy hour in Newport Beach. Each of their happy hour items is like a complete mini-meal. With prices ranging from $11- $13, diners can enjoy items like a Flat Iron Steak complete with rainbow potatoes and sauteed spinach or Roasted Salmon with asparagus and lemon risotto. Cast Iron Roasted Salmon with asparagus and lemon risotto $13
For starters, I ordered their Cast Iron Roasted Salmon with asparagus and lemon risotto which was fantastic and only $13! I normally do not order salmon when I eat out because I feel like I can make it easily at home, but not like this. The lemon risotto was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. It was such a nice compliment to the salmon and really felt like a complete meal.
Grilled Flat Iron Steak with rainbow roasted potatoes and sauteed spinach $12
Next, I did not hesitate to order the Grilled Flat Iron Steak. It arrives with herb butter rainbow roasted potatoes on a bed of sauteed spinach. As you can see from the photos it was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. For only $12, the Bayside Restaurant happy hour just knocked it out of the park.
Roasted Chicken Breast with polenta and broccolini $11
One of the best values on the menu is definitely their Roasted Chicken Breast with creamy polenta, broccolini, and lemon sauce. I am a sucker for anything that is served with polenta and this chicken dish was delicious. While I normally don’t order the chicken at restaurants, there are occasions where it is just too good to pass up and this was one of them.
Kurobuta Pork Chop with bliss potatoes $11
The last item I tried was the Kurobuta Pork Chop which is served with a zesty chipotle sauce and bliss potatoes. The potatoes were whipped with two large roasted potatoes on top. While I should have been stuffed at this point, this dish was so good, I made room to finish the entire plate. I was also told by our amazing server how high quality the pork at Bayside Restaurant is and she wasn’t lying. It is exceptional.

By now I’m sure you are completely convinced by this hidden gem that it the Bayside Restaraunt happy hour in Newport Beach. In addition to the items above they also offer a Blacked Swordfish with tomato salsa and lemon risotto which is also $13. These are all of the happy hour items that I feel offer the best value. They also offer $8 wells drinks and $8 wines by the glass. The menu is a bit difficult to find online so this guide will hopefully come in handy and give you plenty of reasons to pay Bayside Restaurant a visit. Their bar and lounge also has plenty of seating which is always nice.
The Warm Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Ice Cream isn’t on the happy hour menu, but it is worth every bite!
On this particular day, I was really craving something sweet. Feel free to also feast your eyes on this delicious Warm Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Ice Cream which was to die for. It isn’t on the happy hour menu, but it is worth every bite!
