If you’re headed to wine country and looking for an amazing Temecula Bed and Breakfast, The Vine House is a hidden gem. Tucked away along De Portola Road, this home away from home offers a beautiful escape amongst the vineyards. They even have a charming chicken coop where guests can pet & feed the chickens that provide eggs for your freshly made morning breakfast.
Family Owned
The Vine House is a family owned Temecula Bed and Breakfast built from the ground up by Lacey and Rob Britton. On their Instagram, you can even view the original construction plans. There is a special level of attention and detail you’ll find here that does not exist at your typical corporate hotel. Fresh flowers are placed in the rooms, plenty of water is always available, and they even provide a basket of items you may have left at home.
The Property
As you drive up to the 5-acre property, you’ll pass the adorable chicken coop and pull up to an elegant 2-level Farmhouse. Behind the Bed and Breakfast, you’ll find 10 acres of vineyards providing incredible views from your room.
The Chicken Coop is adorable, and I loved stopping by on my way to the wineries to feed them a few grapes from my breakfast. While I was not the chicken whisperer, I was able to pet some of them. What a clever idea, and who doesn’t love fresh eggs in the morning?
During the day, you can play a game of tennis, and in the evenings, The Vine House offers a cozy fire pit for relaxing. My favorite part, of course, was trying to pet the chickens.
Upon entering The Vine House, you’ll set your eyes upon a grand chandelier, modern Victorian-style furniture, and an exposed brick fireplace. Their entrance is a prelude to the thoughtfully designed rooms with special thoughtful touches throughout each space.
Our Room
Our Temecula Bed and Breakfast was located on the first floor with French doors that opened to gorgeous vineyard views. The design was a blend of modern farmhouse chic with an exposed brick wall and vintage touches throughout. Our end tables were even clever refurbished sewing tables. Over the bed was a fabulous crystal chandelier.
In the corner was a small round marble table with gold accents and two leather chairs, perfect for enjoying our morning breakfast. The owner Lacey did a fabulous job with her interior design and created a space that felt unique, elegant, cozy, and modern.
Each room provides a Nespresso maker, plenty of coffee mugs and wine glasses, a large flat screen with smart TV, a mini fridge, microwave, bathroom amenities, plenty of storage and closet space, and an ironing board.
Breakfast
Enjoying a delicious gourmet breakfast is an extra special treat anytime you’re on vacation. Especially when it’s delivered to your door and you do not have to get ready to enjoy it. The breakfast served at The Vine House is so fresh and delicious!
Each morning at 9am, a wonderful gourmet breakfast is placed on a tray and waiting outside your door. Selections include pancakes, french toast, a giant breakfast burrito, and a fully loaded omelet with breakfast potatoes served with fresh orange juice. Each breakfast also has accompaniments like maple syrup, salsa, hot sauce, and butter.
The Location
The Vine House is located in the heart of Temeculas wine country on De Portola Road. This convenient location is just steps away from some of the best wineries in Temecula. Both Oak Mountain Winery and Leoness Cellar are within walking distance and just a minute further down the road you’ll also find my new favorite, Altisima Winery. Along De Portola Road there are over 10 popular wineries and just a few minutes away you’ll find over 50 Temecula wineries. Check out our Temecula section for a list of our favorite Temecula wineries and restaurants.
If you’re looking for a wonderful place to stay in Temecula, I highly recommend checking out The Vine House. During recent years, I have found that more corporate hotels are not providing the same level of detail, comfort, and amenities that they used to. Staying at a family owned property not only supports a small business, but you can tell their is a higher level of care. They value each and every guest that arrives and it shows in ev ery detail from the fresh made to order breakfast to the comforts from home found in each room. They’ve truly left no stone unturned.
