Is the Tokyo Disney Vacation Package Worth It? (2026 Review + How to Book)

If you’re planning a trip to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea, you might be wondering whether the Tokyo Disney Vacation Package is really worth the cost. I hadn’t planned to book one myself, but as our Japan trip got closer, I started to rethink that decision. This was a bucket-list trip for me, and I worried that the best rides would sell out of Disney Priority Access passes.

What ultimately swayed us was showing my fiancé a TikTok video of the very long entrance lines. After seeing it, my fiancé preferred to sleep in rather than wait one to two hours before the park opened.

In this guide, I’ll explain everything you need to know about the Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages, including how to book them, what they include, how much they cost, and whether the Unlimited option is worth it.

Why We Decided to Book the Tokyo Disney Vacation Package

We debated for several days whether or not to book a vacation package and these are the things that ultimately swayed our decision.

  • Even with the Vacation Package, Tokyo Disney is still cheaper than a Disneyland California or Walt Disney World vacation
  • This was a unique bucket list trip and I did not want to risk the DPA (Disney Premier Access) tickets running out
  • We did not want to have to line up early for entry. We wanted to sleep in, relax, and enjoy a nice breakfast
  • We also did not want to wait in any long lines for rides once inside the park
  • The convenience of going on rides at any time was a definite plus.

If you decide against the vacation package, you can still enjoy the parks with careful planning. Check out my guide on How to Avoid Lines at Tokyo Disney With the DPA & 40th Anniversary Tokyo strategy for a detailed approach.

When Do Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages Go On Sale?

The Tokyo Disney Unlimited Vacation Package is so popular it often sells out as soon as they are released so it's important to plan ahead if you're looking to enjoy unlimited rides. Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages are released 5-6 months in advance at 3 pm PST. Make sure you buy your package from the official Tokyo Disney Website during regular business hours.

How to Book a Tokyo Disney Unlimited Package If They're Sold Out?

We decided to book a vacation package only about a month before our trip, and at that time, the Unlimited Vacation Package was sold out. While sold-out packages are not normally re-released, cancellations occasionally occur.

The Tokyo Disney website goes into maintenance every evening from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. JST. By logging on as soon as the site returns at 5 a.m., you can sometimes access canceled vacation packages. This is how we were able to book our Unlimited Vacation Package at a minimal price difference, even though we initially planned to book the “Attractions and More” package.

The receipt from my Tokyo Disney Resort Vacation Package shows our total price, 281,800 yen. You will receive this when you pick up your vacation package tickets at the hotel.

How Much is the Tokyo Vacation Package?

Our Unlimited 2-Day Tokyo Disney Vacation package came to about $1800, which I priced out as being about $1000 more than we would have spent. This price was booking the cheapest Toy Story hotel (which we actually didn't stay in, see more about this below).

Depending on what package you book and what hotel you decide to stay in, the packages can range from $1500-$2500.

How to Save Money On Your Disney Vacation Package

Now that you know the general prices of the Tokyo Disney Vacation packages, I'm going to teach you some tricks to make it even cheaper.

Book the Cheapest Hotel

First, booking the Toy Story Hotel will get you the cheapest package price. The nicer hotels can be $500+ more. But here is a great tip, and this is what we did. We booked the Toy Story Hotel, but stayed at the Sheraton Hotel right next door, which was only $150 per night. It was also bookable using only 50k Marriott points. They also have a Hilton hotel next door as well.

Staying at The Sheraton Tokyo Bay Hotel was cheaper than staying at a nicer Disney Hotel, and we enjoyed nice perks like happy hour for being Platinum Elite members.

Do Not Add Any Additional Dining To Your Vacation Package

When you go to book your vacation package, you’ll see an option to include dining reservations. From my experience, this is not always the best choice. Booking dining through your vacation package can cost more than double what you would pay if you booked separately.

When I first booked our package, I added a reservation at Center Street Coffeehouse for the Baymax Curry. Later, I realized I needed to change the time. Since vacation package guests get priority access to restaurant reservations, I was able to cancel my original reservation and rebook at a better time directly through the reservations page instead of through the package.

I was refunded $88, which felt crazy considering our lunch for two, including two drinks, the Baymax Curry, and the Steak Set Meal, only cost $35. After doing some research and reading other comments on Reddit, I learned that it is a common issue. Booking dining through the package is often more expensive than booking separately.

Restaurant reservations are released one month in advance. As soon as your desired times become available, go to your booking on the official website and use the priority reservations area to reserve your table. This way you can enjoy all the convenience of the vacation package without paying extra for your meals.

How to Book Your Tokyo Disney Vacation Package

Booking your Tokyo Disney vacation package is kind of labor-intensive. They don't even show you the price until you've filled out all the information. Below are the steps you'll need to take to book your package and get your pricing.

  1. First, log onto the official Tokyo Disney website and scroll down to the area that says "Enjoy More With A Vacation Package," then click "Check More".
  2. Then Click "Book Now" and "Dates by Price".
  3. After you select the number of nights and your date, it will show you what packages are available.
  4. Next, you will select your preferred package and select "Reserve" where you will be able to choose your hotel and room type.
  5. Then you will be promoted to choose your breakfast option, and be required to schedule each of your 3 attractions in each park.
  6. Under "Preferred Restaurant" select No Restaurant
  7. Once everything is selected, you will see the final price and be able to check out.

*Once your package is purchased, you will be able to change your ride times if you need to. If you purchase the Unlimited Vacation Package, you will not have to reserve any ride times; you will be able to go on the rides at any time.

Picking Up Your Vacation Package

You can pick up your vacation package at your selected hotel one day before you visit or on the same day. When you purchase a Tokyo Disney vacation package, you will receive physical tickets for everything, which can be very overwhelming. I highly recommend purchasing Disney lanyards on Amazon for everyone in your group to help keep all your paper tickets organized.

What Extra Items Are Included

One really funny perk of having a Tokyo Disney Vacation package is all the perks it comes with. This is very different from the parks in California and Florida. Even though we spent about $1,000 more on booking a package, these extra perks definitely helped to soften the blow to our wallets.

Unlimited Popcorn or Churros: During the off-season, the vacation packages include unlimited popcorn or churros. We went in February, so this was a really fun perk, and I loved trying all the different Popcorn flavors, which Tokyo Disney is known for. You definitely should try the Curry & Strawberry Neapolitan popcorn flavors!

Pro-tip: You can mobile order certain popcorn flavors, but so you aren't charged, purchase the popcorn tongs and then order your popcorn flavors at the pickup window with your vouchers. You can also avoid long lines by trying different popcorn flavors later in the evening when lines are shorter.

Popcorn Bucket: Sadly, during our trip, since we had unlimited popcorn, we did not get a popcorn bucket. The buckets at Tokyo Disney are adorable, so check them out before you visit. It will include your first round of popcorn, but you will have to pay for the refills.

Tokyo Disney Vacation Package original goods voucher gift

Original Goods Voucher: My favorite perk was probably the original goods voucher, which each guest receives. You'll be able to walk into specific stores and choose an item from a selection of different gifts, including a crossbody bag, sitting mat, blanket, tote, and even a Duffy bag (only available at DisneySea).

Unlimited Beverages: Vacation Packages all year round can enjoy unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. This includes all the fun specialty drinks you see throughout the park. I recommend checking the menus before you go so you can make a list of some of the fun beverages you might want to try. They have everything from tasty boba drinks, to creative sparkling beverages, and even flavored coffees are included.

Many people don't know this, but you also do not need to wait in line for your beverage, you just go straight to the checkout window.

Unlimited Soups: During the winter months, the unlimited beverages also include unlimited soups at the fast service restaurants. Just make sure to ask for them when you check out, so you aren't charged. I really enjoyed the french onion and corn chowder soups during my visit in February.

Finally Verdict

For us, the Unlimited Vacation Package was absolutely worth it and if you can snag this package over the "Attractions and More" I would go for it. Especially if it's a once in a lifetime trip and you're not sure if or when you might return.

Also if you are extremely impatient and hate long lines, the Unlimited Vacation package is definitely going to be save you time and be more stress free.

If, however, you would rather save money, you don't mind getting to the park 1-2 hours in advance, waiting in lines for some of the rides, or booking rides from your phone, then you might prefer not to get the package and save yourself a good amount of money.

No matter what you decide, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are absolutely amazing, and a must-visit for any Disney lover!
