Descanso in Costa Mesa just introduced a handful of new mouth-watering menu items to coincide with their 3 year anniversary. Chef Fonzy DeZuniga has created a variety of new flavorful and inspiring dishes included new appetizers, entrees, and even a brand new brunch item. Their Mixologist Krys Modawell, has also introduced a variety of clever new concoctions. Take a sneak peek of their new menu below as well as some of my personal faves.

Descanso never disappoints when it comes to their cocktail selections. One of my favorite new cocktails is their Mango 43 Margarita made with De Leon Tequila, mango purée, Licor 43, and lime juice. Pictured above you’ll also find their classic Mi Corazon with Villa One Silver Tequila, agave, blood orange, pomegranate, passion fruit, and lemon. If you’re looking for creative cocktails with fresh ingredients, Descanso in Costa Mesa always impresses. Here is a list of all their latest cocktail creations.

Descanso-Sondra-Barker-Snapper

Feast your eyes on the new Chili seasoned deep fried whole red snapper from Descanso head chef Fonzy DeZuniga

The cuisine at Descanso is always excellent and I love their La Plancha grills. I was thrilled when I saw they had a new whole deep-fried snapper on their menu. This is a special seasonal fish they get in fresh daily from the market and it is absolutely fantastic. I’ll admit that this is one of those dishes I am a sucker for and as soon as I saw this on the menu, I immediately made reservations.

The Paraiso Huachinango, is a simple, fresh, and delicious Chili seasoned deep-fried whole red snapper, guacamole, pico de gallo, limes, side salad, and blue corn tortillas. This is an absolute must-try while it is still on the menu, which I hope stays for a very long time so I can keep going back for more! Check out all their new menu offerings below.

Citrus marinated shrimp, citrus-tamari morita sauce, avocado, cherry tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, cilantro and tortilla chips

Serrano Chile Potatoes

Salmon Avocado Tostada
Salmon confit, avocado, cherry tomatoes, chile morita aioli, bell peppers, roasted corn, onions, and cilantro on two tostadas.

Eggs Benito (Sunday Brunch Only)
Achiote marinated chicken, two poached eggs, agave morita glaze, hollandaise, avocado, bell peppers, grilled corn and onions on two tostadas
